there werent instructions but there was a picture so you can figure it out and have it together in 20 min max if you have a half of brain. i actually saved a few bucks by doing it seperate and i had it in 2 days rather than 2-3 weeks. if you cant figure out how it goes together maybe you shouldnt be using it in the first place. this was very easy to assemble. i ended up also purchasing the squeeze handle seperately.
Although, I think torches melt ice surprisingly slow from everything I've read and seen in video's. I got this to kill moss on my brick patio, weeds on my rock path and flower/vegetable gardens, and to melt ice of my steps. For torching weeds near other living plants, I would recommend the Bernzomatic Self-Igniting Torch. I would recommend this to someone who needs to weed a large area, but not for weeding a flower garden. It is scary loud and too powerful for killing weeds that are growing within 5 feet of any plant you don't want to hurt. I do plan on using this to control moss and to melt ice on walk ways.
I do recommend when one uses the unit to wear an insulated glove as the pipe gets very cold when you are flaming. The valve did not work correctly initially, and I had to open and close it a dozen times until the unit fired up properly. Now that it is set up, it works very well. The product assembled easily and quickly. The connector was soemwhat hard to tighten down and required two wrenches to keep it in place and then to tighten it.
I have a 1.5 inch thick slab of ice on my front walk every winter, and using a digging bar and shovel damages the walk and is a pain. Yeah, sort of. For tall fellows, the shaft could be a bit longer. The directions to put the thing together were good, but putting it together was a bit difficult. This beast melts it nicely. I used a vise and a big wrench, and I still didn't get one seated all the way. This product works well.
Also, another few inches of length in the torch itself would be nice. At the same time, it works well and REALLY throws out some serious flame. I like the long, 10 foot hose which allows you to move around a good bit without dragging the tank around. Regardless, it works well and doesn't leak. For $75 does it seem a bit over priced. It's an expensive, but quality product. Even so, another 5 feet of hose would be nice.
The fittings are VERY tight.
i found a similar Torch that also included a squeeze handle (see my review on Flame engineering handle) for less than these two components cost on Amazon. No instructions were included on how to assemble the fittings. Though I figured it out and it functions check Sears first.
